  • Hispanic or Mestizo Rhinoplasty:

Hispanic and Mestizo are broad terms that describe a diverse population with many different unique features. Because of historic migration of the Spanish and Portuguese to South America, certain part of the population have nose with white/Caucasian features. The mixing of the native population of North and South America also give rise to some nose feature similar to Asian nose, where primarily augmentation is needed. The mixing of the African population also give rise to a part of the population with African features. The nose also generally have a thicker skin envelope.

All of these make Hispanic rhinoplasty challenging and should be performed by surgeon who focuses on this particular population. In addition, in order to maintain natural harmony with the rest of your face, Dr. Boonipat will retain some ethnic features to your nose.

  • Asian Rhinoplasty:

The Asian population have unique facial and nasal features. The underlying cartilages are weak and skin envelop is thick. The dorsum is flat and need augmentation. Usually your own rib or off-the-shelf cartilages are needed for a stable long lasting result. Dr. Boonipat will usually use the off the shelf cartilage to construct the framework (foundation) of your nose, and crafted smaller pieces of cartilages for the aesthetic refinement of the dorsum. Septal extension graft or the tongue in groove method will be use to reposition your tip. In certain case, Dr. Boonipat will also try to preserve your dorsum outline and augment the nose from underneath by augmenting your septum (the divider between the two sides of your nose).

  • Male Rhinoplasty:

Men seek nose job for different reasons that is usually different than female. Many men want to lessen their ethnic nose, while preventing losing their ethnicity or becoming too feminine. Asian men, on the opposite end, will seek more augmentation.

In term of anatomy, men have thicker skin, more likely a history of trauma and larger structures. Men also place more emphasis on breathing.

Dr. Boonipat perform the same consult in men, discussing your goals and expectations. In his residency training, Dr. Boonipat deals with a lot of facial trauma including nasal trauma in men, and is comfortable helping you achieve your goals.

  • Revision Rhinoplasty:

If the patient is not wholly satisfied with the result of previous rhinoplasty, Dr. Boonipat can perform revision rhinoplasty. Revision rhinoplasty are in some ways similar to ethnic rhinoplasty, only harder due to the scarring. Usually the previous rhinoplasty surgeon will likely have performed a traditional reduction rhinoplasty, leading to unpredictable healing and cartilage structures too small for the skin envelope, with significant scarring.

Common complaints from the patient include:

-My nose is upturned like a pig.

-My nose is collapsed.

-The tip is too pointy.

-The nose is too wide, not refined.

-I have difficulty breathing.

Revision rhinoplasty will usually have to be reconstruct with a strong framework, using your own rib or off-the-shelf cartilage.
