So why did I choose plastic surgery? So it's a very personal story actually my brother had a cleft lip and palate, so growing up I see firsthand how the facial difference really affects his life and how each plastic surgery procedures that make him look more normal really improve his self-confidence so that's my first taste of how plastic surgery can actually help people. And then throughout medical school I got a lot of exposure to plastic surgery, and getting the exposure to the patients and seeing how each of the surgical intervention really improves that self-confidence. And how they interact with other people really points me in the right direction to choose plastic surgery. In addition I'm an artist since I was very young, and I enjoy Chinese painting. And really plastic surgery is one of the rare fields where you can actually combine your artistic ability with medical knowledge and surgical acumen to help treat patients.
